EPO Fee Increases

Official fees at the European Patent Office tend to be reviewed, and generally increased, every two years. In keeping with this cycle, the EPO has announced increases to be effective as of 1 April 2022 and mainly in the range of 3% - 5%.

The main fees being increased, and the new amounts, are as follows:

Filing fee                                 €130

Search fee                              €1390

Examination fee                      €1775

Grant fee                                 €990

Opposition fee                         €840

Appeal fee                               €2785

Third year renewal fee            €505

Fourth year renewal fee          €630
