Technical Assistant
Lyla graduated from Cardiff University in 2020 with a First-Class Honours degree in Neuroscience and then went on to complete a MRes in Advanced Biological Sciences at Southampton University in 2021, undertaking a single-cell RNA sequencing analysis project investigating neuroimmune cells in the context of neurodegenerative diseases, and graduated with a distinction.
Prior to joining the patent profession with WP Thompson in 2024, Lyla worked as a research assistant at the UK Dementia Research Institute and later at the Blizard Institute. In these roles, her research focused on modelling genetic risk factors for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease, investigating pathological protein dynamics and therapeutic interventions.
